Hockey, anyone?

The puck drops on the Leafs 07/08 pre-season tonight at 9pm EST.

Dig out your Blue and Whites, grab a beverage of your choice and strap yourself in for another Leafs campaign.

In the next few days we will see the roster take shape for the regular season. We will also see Jason Blake and Vesa Toskala embark on their new journeys here in T.O.

Paul Maurice and his coaching staff will dress the following players for tonight's contest vs. the Oilers:

FORWARDS:
Darcy Tucker - Kyle Wellwood - Alexei Ponikarovsky
Jeremy Williams - Matt Stajan - Simon Gamache
Tony Salmelainen - Chad Kilger - Jiri Tlusty
Wade Belak - Kris Newbury - Ben Ondrus

DEFENSE:
Bryan McCabe - Carlo Colaiacovo
Tomas Kaberle - Bryan Muir
Jay Harrison - Derek Walser

GOALTENDER:
Justin Pogge

The line that has generated a lot of buzz around camp has seen a change with Jeremy Williams replacing Alex Steen on the left-wing. Maurice will do a regular rotation in the first group of games, so Steen instead will start tomorrow night in Winnipeg. Of course, Winnipeg is where his father, Thomas, played his hockey for the Jets. To play in front of his father in his home-town setting will be a sentimental experience for Alex.

The bubble boys in action tonight are Jeremy Williams, Simon Gamache and Tony Salmelainen. Gamache would seem to be leading the race to fill the void left by the suspended Mark Bell. Rookie Jiri Tlusty seems targeted for the Marlies, but will look to continue a strong training camp with some solid pre-season performances. He as so far left a cultivated impression on the Leafs coaching staff, proving that he's ready to compete with men.

A pretty big test for Justin Pogge tonight. After a rocky start to his pro career, he's looking to get things on the right track for the upcoming campaign with the Marlies and prove to the organization that he's their future starter.

4 hours until the puck drops in Edmonton. Maple Leafs.com will stream the game live, for those who are not subscribers of Leafs TV.
