My evening began with an idea that I would watch Eeli Tolvanen play hockey, but I somehow ended up in 5 OT game and it was as fun as you would think it was.

KHL Gagarin Cup play-off conference semi-final game began with a high paced hockey, and all that you could expect from two good teams, but that quickly turned into a nightmare.

First Jokerit made it 1-0, and then later Kirill Kaprizov tied things up with a beauty of a goal - backhander while down on his knees.

Eeli Tolvanen was the other teenager who was eager to get one.. but unfortunately, after a challenge, it was deemed offside and his amazing snipe did not count.

It all went south from there. Even though both teams were eager to win the game, neither could put the puck past the goalies turning the game into a show for Kari Ramo and Ilya Sorokin.

One OT, then another one and another one it seemed to be a never-ending loop. During the game dates in Moscow changed, meaning that game had started on 22nd and would finish on 23rd. A record was set, once the clock turned to 126:15 - The new KHL record was set for the longest game in the league's history.

CSKA's Roman Lyubimov appeared to have scored shortly after, but Kari Ramo's helmet was off and after a review, the call on the ice was overturned and no goal.

5th OT began and that was it - at 142:09 mark of the game Mika Niemi granted a victory for Jokerit forcing a game six that will be played on Saturday. The game finished with Matt Robinson skating for 54:12 (69 shifts) and Sami Lepisto 52:19 (65 shifts).
83 saves for Ramo and 46 for Sorokin.
