1/4 finals are all but over, upsets keep piling on as if Grinch Stole Christmas, or whatever.

Team Czech Republic had a tough match-up against Team USA but managed to sneak by the Americans in the shootout. Petr Koukal was the man who granted the Czech's their 1st semi-final in 12 years.

With Latvians loaded Russian bench and Team Russia was the 2nd team to qualify for the 2018 Olympic semi-finals after beating Norway 6:1 (3:0, 2:1, 1:0). The first period was the one that decided the game after goals from Mikhail Grigorenko, Nikita Gusev, and Slava Voynov. Norway's first Olympic 1/4 final ended with a pathetic loss. Russia will face the Czech Republic next.

Team Canada went on the ice in probably what seemed to be the closest and most boring game in of the day - Finland - Canada played 60 minutes of hockey, but managed to score only a single goal. Maxime Noreau got the puck from Eric O'Dell and that was it, Finland would be kicked out of Olympic tournament just a minute into the 3rd period. Eric O'Dell pushed Veli-Matti Savinainen into Ben Scrivens in the 2nd period meaning that Canada had to make a goalie change and Scrivens was sent to the room while Kevin Poulin took over the netminding duties to keep Canada's net safe. It's also important to note that Canada's 3rd goalie Justin Peters got dressed to back-up for the remainder of the game.

Olympic sensation? Last team to clinch a spot in top-four was Team Germany, as they went up 2-0 early on against Sweden. Swedes did wake up eventually scoring three goals to tie the game and force OT, but that wasn't enough. Germany's Patrick Reimer dangled the ''Phuck'' out of Team Sweden's defense and clinched a victory sending them to the medal round for the 1st time since 1932. Germany will meet Canada when hockey returns to the Olympic arena.
