Former Islander Captain Alexei Yashin has agreed to a 1-year deal to play in his native Russia for Locomotiv Yaroslavl, the team he skated with during the '04-'05 lockout. Financials have not yet been disclosed. He'll join former Islander teammate Randy Robitaille for the season.

In an interesting side-note, with Yashin's return home, the Ottawa Senators have now lost the first two 1st-round picks in the franchise's existence...the other being 1993's 1st overall pick, Alexandre Daigle, who's currently playing in Switzerland.
