There were no surprises when it came to the Bruins' protection list from next week's Vegas expansion draft.

Up front, the Bruins protected David Backes, Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, Brad Marchand, Riley Nash, David Pastrnak, and Ryan Spooner.

On defense, Zdeno Chara, Kevan Miller, and Torey Krug were protected, while Tuukka Rask was the protected goalie.

Backes, Bergeron, Krejci, and Chara earned protection designations as a result of their no-movement clauses.

This means that Matt Beleskey, Jimmy Hayes, Adam McQuaid, Colin Miller, Anton Khudobin, and Malcolm Subban will be among the club's notable players available for the Golden Knights.

The expansion draft results will be announced live during the NHL Awards on Wednesday.
