Rumor Quality + Game Night in NYC

Close But No Cigar

Another game, another one goal loss. Saturday the Ducks traveling power outage appeared in Tampa, the result was a 3-2 shootout loss. For Anaheim the highlight was rookie defenseman Brandon Montour's first NHL goal. Once the game went into the shootout, Ducks goalie Jonathan Bernier got lit up on three of four shots.

Trade Discussion?

Bob Murray and his staff don't talk about anything they have in the works. Loose lips, sink ships and the like. It wouldn't be surprising that when he comes home from work and his wife asks him if anything interesting happened at the office today, he says “nope, nothing”, even if he traded for the second coming of Bobby Orr at 10 am. that morning. Generally, when you hear a rumor surrounding the Ducks, it is either second (maybe third) hand or outright fantasy. There is some chatter I put in the plausible category. We just don't know. For example, a deal centering around Fowler or Vatanen to Toronto for JvR, has been bandied about and is plausible.

Under the plausible category, Friday night Colorado GM Joe Sakic and Tampa GM Steve Yzerman were at the Ducks-Panthers game. Of course it could just be a team Canada reunion. More likely both teams have interest in Anaheim players.

One of the more outrageous rumors I've come across will blow your mind. The Ducks trade Ryan Getlaf to Philly because they acquire John Taveras in a separate deal from the Isles. The reasons why this won't happen are numerous, yet it was put out there.

Ducks @ NYR

Tonight the Ducks are at “The World's Most Famous Arena,” Madison Square Garden to take on the Rangers. Its been a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde season for the Rangers due to the un-Kinglike play of goalie Henrik Lundqvist. For Anaheim, Sami Vatanen did not skate in practice yesterday and is unlikely to play tonight. John Gibson returns to defend the Ducks goal. The skaters line up should be status quo from Saturday.

Forwards

Cramarosa-Thompson-Shaw

Defensemen
Lindholm-Manson
Fowler-Montour
Theodore-Bieksa

Goalies

One item to keep in mind is that NYR are one of the teams looking to the Ducks for defense help.
