Defenseman Aaron Ekblad will miss the remainder of the World Cup of Hockey after suffering a concussion North America's 4-1 victory over Finland on Sunday.

The Calder Trophy winner was scratched from the 23-and-under squad's lineup and was missed as the "young guns" lost to Team Russia 4-3 at Air Canada Center in Toronto on Monday.

Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports that Ekblad will return to Florida to be evaluated by the Panthers medical staff, but it is believed that the move is precautionary.

Winnipeg's Jacob Trouba replaced Ekblad in the North America lineup and was -2 in the loss to Russia.
