Habs likely to trade up for Espo
Talking to a Habs source last night in Ottawa, and then following it up today, I have confirmed that the Habs are looking to move up to get Angelo Esposito, the once consensus #1, that many are comparing to Phil Kessel..."His stock has dropped, but so did Phil's and at the end of the day, Boston got a steal." Montreal will have to get to at least 5, but Philly may be willing to trade the #2 pick I am hearing...
Kings Trade Rumours
The LA Kings are going to be active and very well may be the best bet to pull off another big trade deadline day blockbuster...This time they are rumoured to be targeting Marleau and Nabokov from San Jose. (e2)...no word yet what the Sharks would want...
HOT GM RUMOURS>>Kevin Cheveldayoff to Phoenix and Rick Dudley to Columbus
AHL Wolves GM Kevin Cheveldayoff is the current "leading candidate" for the Coyotes GM job, (one source told me that the only reason it has not been announced is the Wolves are still in the AHL playoffs)...and Hawks Assistant GM Rick Dudley may be silently taking the lead in Columbus. Both GMs are pure class and would be perfect for their respective positions...
Kevin Cheveldayoff may be the brightest young GM, and I'll give you a buck if you can find someone to say something bad about him...The NHL loves him, the players love him, the teams love him, and even the agents love him...That is not easy to pull off...He is also a tireless worker, and may be perfect for the scene in the desert...
If Rick Dudley has a weakness it is that he is modest to a fault and won't self promote...That being said, I will sing his praises...he is the only GM out there that has always improved his teams record ever year he was a GM, and he was the biggest reason for the Tampa Cup, even though he wasn't there anymore...It is not surprising to see Columbus seriously pondering this move...Duds and Hitch would be a team where no player would be able to give any less than 200%

Although he is still playing, teams are already lining up to see how Ottawa handles the next few weeks and with the obvious depth that has arisen on the Sens blue line, we will see if Torres, a #1 and a prospect entice the Sens....
