My wireless has been mostly down for the past three days, except for spots here and there.

Tried to post this an hour ago and couldn't ... Flyers re-signed Ben Eager to a two-year, $1.2 million contract. Here's the mini-interview conducted with a member of the PR staff:

Eager will take a small pay cut this coming fall at $550,000, then $650,000 in 2008-09. He earned $646,000 last season.

Q: What are your thoughts on signing a two-year contract?

Ben Eager: “I’m really excited. The team is looking ahead and I’m happy to be a part of things, especially with the core group that we have here. There’s going to be a lot of excitement over these next few years and I’m happy I’ll get to be a part of it.”

Q: Do you consider last season to be a breakthrough year for yourself?

Eager: “I thought that personally it was a good year, and I learned a lot. From a team standpoint we struggled, but I think a lot of people learned from the year. I just want to continue to improve and help the team in any way I can.”

Q: Was it a priority for you to get the deal done early on this offseason?

Eager: “It’s nice to get it out of the way and just look forward to coming into camp in good shape to be ready to start the season off well.”

Q: What are your plans for the rest of the summer?

Eager: “I am going to be in Ottawa for another month or so, and then I’ll be back and forth between Ottawa and Philly. Near the end of the summer I’ll come back to Philly full-time.”
