St. Louis Blues Head Coach Andy Murray told me when you get asked to represent your country you do it.

Murray will take Eric Brewer and Barret Jackman from the St. Louis Blues with him.

Brad Boyes, who played for Canada in last year’s world championships, will receive consideration.

Lee Stempniak will be asked to play for Team USA. There is an outside shot David Backes gets invited as well. Backes will be assigned to Peoria once the Blues season is completed and will play in the AHL post season if the Rivermen get in.

Stempniak will accept the invitation, while Doug weight has already told USA hockey he will not participate.

More to come,
