Some quick hits for your Tuesday morning:

It is never fun to hear about when someone you like and admire loses his job. The Toronto Maple Leafs have fired Dave Poulin and Claude Loiselle. Poulin in particular is one of my favorite people in hockey -- a childhood hero of mine, and one of the game's smartest and classiest people. He'll land on his feet.

I am hearing the Kevin Hayes sweepstakes could have at least 10 teams with MAJOR interest. Along with Calgary, Florida and his hometown Bruins, I am hearing that five Metro Division teams -- New Jersey, Rangers, Flyers, Penguins and Islanders -- all want to make a pitch. There is also interest from Dallas and Montreal.

The Phoenix Coyotes have "kicked some tires" to improve their forward depth, and one of their players of interest may be Vincent Lecavalier.
