Update per Arthur Staple:
#Isles have signed Casey Cizikas to 2-year, $2-million contract and Calvin de Haan to 3-year, $5.9 million contract.
============================================================

The New York Islanders have re-signed both Brett Gallant and Matt Donovan to one year, two way deals. This leaves Calvin de Haan and Casey Cizikas as the only remaining unsigned restricted free agents. The Islanders also an arbitration date upcoming with goaltender Kevin Poulin. It is expected Poulin will re-sign, however Poulin realizes he will be in Bridgeport the entire season and wants a higher salary in the AHL.

I fully expect Cizikas and de Haan to be signed soon. Cizikas will probably accept a one-year deal with a modest raise over last season. Now de Haan's contract could be more interesting. Will Islander General Manager Garth Snow look to sign de Haan to a multi-year deal and pay for future potential? I'm not expecting a Travis Hamonic long-term deal but could Snow look to lock in de Haan long term much like he did with Andrew MacDonald and Frans Nielsen years ago? This just has the makings of a three or four year deal written all over it.

News around the Island is relatively slow right now. The Islanders still have a surplus of players under one-way contracts. They still have too many forwards and still need a defenseman. However all is quiet on the trade front as of right now. I do believe the Isles will make a trade at some point but right now the trade winds are not blustering.
