It's draft week, which means there will be a daily dose of rumors, speculation and roster movement all around the NHL.

With the window that allows all NHL teams to talk to pending unrestricted free agents set to open on Wednesday, things are set to ramp up in a hurry.

Some notes on the latest surrounding the Devils:

- Between injury issues and bouncing around between the AHL and NHL, Jacob Josefson has played in just 49 games over the last two seasons, and has never played more than 41 NHL games in one year. The potential for a more lucrative offer and opportunity to play overseas closer to home - as a few other Devils (Harri Pesonen, Alex Urbom and Mattias Tedenby) have opted for this summer - could be attractive to some, but that's not what Josefson has in mind.

I reached out to Josefson's agent, Peter Wallen, about the possibility and he made it clear that Josefson has no intention of doing so, and would like to stay with New Jersey.

"Jacob is focused on getting a contract with Devils," Wallen said "Hopefully we will have everything in place before the summer is over."

Wallen went on to say that no qualifying offer has been made, but that the sides are talking.

"Not yet," he said. "We are speaking to Lou (Lamoriello) though."

- Lamoriello has said he'd like to re-sign Mark Fayne, but with eight NHL defenseman already on the roster (that includes Adam Larsson) and no current plans to use a compliance buyout before July 1, there doesn't seem to be a spot open for him.

Should Fayne test the market, I think San Jose would be a good fit for him and I could see the Sharks as a potential landing spot. They're obviously an excellent team, and Doug Wilson wouldn't have to break the bank to bring him in. Not only that, but Larry Robinson is with the Sharks now so that could make the team more attractive than they already are.

- Lamoriello also expressed interest in bringing back the entire 4th line of Steve Bernier, Stephen Gionta and Ryan Carter. To this point nothing has been worked out with any of them, obviously, so that's something to watch in the coming days.

- The window to talk to pending UFAs opens tomorrow, and while no contracts can be finalized, players have the ability to talk to any team they want and put together the framework on a contract before making it official on July 1.

New Jersey needs some help in their top-6 and I've been pretty adamant in saying that Ales Hemsky and Radim Vrbata, among others, could be good fits for the team.

We'll know very soon if Lamoriello feels the same way.
