A day after owner Hasso Plattner gave his statement of confidence in General Manager Doug Wilson and coach Todd McLellan, Wilson made his first key moves of the offseason.
Veteran defenseman Dan Boyle and forward Marty Havlat will not be back with the Sharks. The Brent Burns experiment at forward is over and he'll be moving back to the blue line.
Wilson appeared on San Francisco radio station KNBR to answer all the questions about why the Sharks quite frankly had one of the worst choke jobs in NHL playoff history.
He acknowledged that his team simply caved in especially after the goal in Game 6 that gave the Kings the lead.
He said he didn't like seeing his team show weakness and it's not acceptable to finish the season this way. He promises to have a younger, more aggressive team moving forward.
Wilson said all the right things and expressed his anger and frustration as he should.
After this coming season, if the Sharks don't show better results, further changes will be coming. Accountability seems to be the theme. Stay tuned to see what's next.
