Suspensions, Fines and Demotions: Head Scratching

Travis Hamonic's hot-headed action yesterday not only earned him a one game suspension and a fine, but also earned Jack Capuano a $10,000 bill as well. This is rediculous since Jack didn't have a chance to intervene and did not send Hammer out over the boards and onto the ice to pummel the offender.

Certainly some say they like what Hamonic did, sending a message. But seriously, Travis will be playing without Andrew MacDonald very soon, he should have let it go. He should also pay Jack's fine. That would be fair.

Speaking of 'fair,' or UNFAIR, the Islanders have sent Mike Halmo back to Bridgeport and activated Frans Nielsen. Mike Halmo was the only bright spot in yesterday's game. For that -- he gets to go back to Bridgeport. I can't believe that. It's not that I don't want Frans Nielsen in the line-up, of course I do. It's that Halmo added some spice yesterday.

What is going on with tihs team??? Twitter buddy @JJTB82 reminded me that the Isles pulled the same sort of stunts with Michael Haley and David Ullstrom, both of which have moved on. If a player is showing heart and a desire to play, why would he get sent back?

So, if Matt Martin is not ready to play, and Mike Halmo is sent down and Hamonic is sitting in the press box, that leaves Boulton to be the tough guy today?

It's too a point I can't figure anything out with this team. I'll just sit back and grab the popcorn -- and advil.
