Yep, this was the day that Chris Botta pitched years ago when he was PR Director for the Isles. A rivalry game between the Isles and the Rangers at historic Yankee Stadium. I don't think anyone pitched the Isles being the SECOND game at Yankee Stadium, but as the red-headed step child of NYC, that's what they got.

Still special, still exciting, but being the Wednesday game on the same day that Super Bowl Boulevard opens their Taboggon in Manhattan, it seems the media attention is limited. Then again, what should Islander fans expect?

No sporting event is bigger than the Super Bowl and it has now eclipsed everything and anything that is going on in NY, but tonight's game is still announced as a sell-out, so there are plenty of hockey fans willing to brave the cold and the night air to be at this once-in-a-lifetime event. And, at least the tickets weren't $1800 each.

The Rangers have already done this so they're hoping that the experience from Sunday afternoon gives them the upper hand. I'm worried about Nabokov getting frostbite out there. He won't be getting the chance to get on the bench to get warm every few minutes. We won't know how this bitter cold tonight will effect the play until later. Jack mentioned the shifts will have to be very short, which may mean he will not get the match-ups he wants every time.

While there were many complaints about the ice on Sunday, Colin McDonald said the ice seemed fine yesterday during the practice skate, but did say due to the cold the puck was is harder. Then let's not block too many shots out there tonight.

Jack will announce his line-up later today. An exciting day for Isles fans everywhere and a big two points at stake.
