Buffalo Sabres fans haven’t had a lot to cheer for this season with their team mired in the basement of the NHL standings. However, they can come to the rink every night or turn on the TV and be guaranteed an amazing goaltending performance by one of Buffalo’s two Sochi Olympic goalies in Ryan Miller (USA) and Jhonas Enroth (Sweden).

Poor defense and a BB gun offense have undermined brilliant goaltending all season long in Buffalo. Its akin to watching great pitching from your favorite baseball team get sub-marined by zero run-support on a nightly basis. The Sabres are on pace to score the fewest amount of goals in NHL history this season.

Through all of the ups and downs, Miller has been lights out this season. Enroth has been equally as impressive. Don’t let their win/loss records fool you. Miller and Enroth are doing everything in their collective powers to get their team on their winning ways, including making jaw-dropping saves, like these.

Enroth performed grand larceny on Claude Giroux in the first period of a tight game on international TV on Tuesday night:



Enroth did it again later in the game when he performed voodoo on Vinny Lecavalier.



Enroth stopped 29 Philly shots. It was the first time since Dec. 7 the Sabres scored more than one goal in support of Enroth.


Stick tap, Miller and Enroth for never giving up on plays and always being there for the team. Buffalo's brilliant goaltending is the lone constant facet during this season of suffering. Miller and Enroth are to be commended for keeping their preparation and focus razor sharp. They give their team a chance to win everynight. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Buffalo's forwards and D.
