ABBREVIATED GAME PREVIEW (7:00 AM CST)

Coming off a three-game road trip marked by a pair of shootout wins and an overtime victory, the Dallas Stars (8-6-2) return home for one game to take on the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks (10-2-4).

Game time at the American Airlines Center is 7:00 p.m. CST. The game will be broadcast locally on Fox Sports Southwest Plus.

The Stars completed a three-game sweep of their recent road trip with a comeback 4-3 overtime victory in Detroit. Shawn Horcoff and Jamie Benn led the charge after Dallas trailed 2-0, and Cody Eakin's power play late in the third period forced overtime. With less than 20 seconds remaining in the extra frame, Rich Peverley scored the winning goal. Kari Lehtonen made 26 saves for the victory.

The Blackhawks have points in nine of their last 10 games (6-1-3). Chicago is coming off a comfortable 4-1 win over Winnipeg. Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews are tied for the team's overall scoring lead with 14 points apiece (although Kane is a minus-seven on a team almost entirely comprised of plus-rated players at even strength). Marian Hossa has tallied six goals and defenseman Duncan Keith has racked up a dozen assists.

On the injury front, the Stars currently have a healthy lineup. The Blackhawks have three known injuries. Defenseman Michael Kostka (foot) and forwards Brad Mills (lower body) and Michal Handzus (upper body) are out for tonight's game.
