ABBREVIATED GAME PREVIEW (1:45 PM CST)

Looking for their second straight win, the Dallas Stars (6-6-2) are in Beantown tonight to take on the defending Eastern Conference champion Boston Bruins (8-5-0). Game time is 6 p.m. central time. The match will be televised live on Fox Sports Southwest.

The primary storyline to this game involves the first meeting between Dallas and Boston since the blockbuster trade that sent Loui Eriksson and Reilly Smith to the Bruins and Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverley to the Stars. Eriksson, who has been cleared to play after recovering from a concussion is expected to be in the Bruins lineup tonight.

The game also promises to have an interesting duel between a pair of Finnish netminders: Kari Lehtonen (5-2-2, 1.94 GAA, .936 save percentage) for the Stars and Tuukka Rask (7-4-0, 1.73 GAA, .940 SV%) for Boston.

The Stars enter this game coming off a 4-3 shootout win in Ottawa on Sunday afternoon. Dallas jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and held a 3-2 lead in the second period before seeing the game tied in the waning seconds. Ray Whitney and Valeri Nichushkin (first NHL goal) each tallied for the first time this season, while Jamie Benn scored the winner in OT.

Boston has been in a bit of skid lately, dropping three of the last four. The Bruins are coming off a 3-1 road loss to the New York Islanders on Saturday.
