The Toronto Maple Leafs updated the status of injured center Dave Bolland, who suffered a leg laceration in Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena.

The 27-year-old forward had successful surgery on Sunday to repair the tendon on the outside of his left ankle and he is out indefinitely. According to TSN's Darren Dreger, the tendon was punctured rather than severed, but there was no damage done to Bolland's Achilles tendon, which was of concern immediately following the game when head coach Randy Carlyle indicated that his injury was similar to Ottawa defenseman Erik Karlsson's last season.

The club also indicated that center Tyler Bozak has been placed on long term injured reserve(LTIR) with a hamstring injury, retroactive to October 25th, when he suffered the injury in a loss at Columbus.

With Bozak and Bolland out, Carlyle moved winger James van Riemsdyk to center between Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul during a lengthy practice at Air Canada Center Monday morning. Nazem Kadri was moved to the second line between Mason Raymond and David Clarkson and Jay McClement was with Nikolai Kulemin and Troy Bodie.

Dreger reported Monday evening that Leafs GM Dave Nonis was putting out feelers to other NHL teams in search of help up front, but that very few teams are open for business this early in the season.

At this point, the teams willing to make deals are in the Eastern Conference. ESPN's Pierre Lebrun reported a couple weeks ago that Florida GM Dale Tallon was amenable to trading veteran players on roster and Buffalo GM Darcy Regier is in full sell mode after moving pending UFA Thomas Vanek last week.
