Here are the lines for today's practice group and scrimmage.

Notice how coach Rolston is already forming his lines. Vanek-Hidgson-Folign is very intriguing. Look for this line to hit the ice running in Montreal on Sunday.

9-25-23 looked great to me last season and they found chemistry again on Thursday. Rolston will likely give this line a run in Montreal. Girgensons-Porter-Flynn played well tigether in Rochester last season.

I'm very intrigued by the Ennis-Larsson-Stafford trio. Larsson proved his worth as a puck possession center in the Traverse City tournament last week. The puck sticks to the guy's stick and no matter how defenders try, they cannot knock Larsson off the biscuit. Th eguy is a pit bull and is very strong and relentless. Ennis can use his speed and quick shot to get open for Larsson's darts. Stafford may become a 30 goal scorer again with a strong centerman. Lets watch this line and see if it gels together.

I'm also digging the energy line of Tropp-McCormick-Kaleta. Talk about a tough, meat-grinder of a line! I would live to see McCormick back on the Buffalo roster. He's healthy and in excellent shape. He will run through a burning building for Ron Rolston and his teammates. Tropp is fearkless and can score 10-15 goals. Kaleta, with increased minutes at the end of last season thrived 5 on 5 and on PK. I can't wait to see 78-8-36 declare war on the Canadiens, Blue Jax, Hurricanes, and Leafs in the exhibition games.

The D pairing of McNabb-McBain looks like a pair that can plug and play together in Rochester. I'm of the mind that Ristolainen will make the Sabres roster and McBain will be waived to Rochester at the end of camp, with Sulzer being the #7 in Buffalo. We'll seee how McNabb-McBain play in the scrimmages and in preseason games.
