Ek's Note: I feel so very fortunate to be welcoming one of the best hockey guys working today, Josh Rimer, to Hockeybuzz. You would be hard pressed to find a guy who works harder, knows more people, or brings solid content on a minute to minute basis than Josh. I know you all will soon agree..

After Adam Henrique re-signed with the NJ Devils for 6 Years $24 Million today, I had the opportunity to chat with him.

JR: Exciting to re-sign in NJ to a Long Term Contract:

AH: "Yes, it’s very exciting. My family and I are very happy about it and I’m excited for the future."

JR: Last Week a New Ownership group was brought in for the Devils and now we won’t have to hear about ownership issues in NJ anymore.

AH: "It’s very nice. It obviously gives us more security around the Team and the Team being in NJ. I was excited to hear the news about that last week and I’m looking forward to getting things started."

JR: On Kovy’s departure

AH: "Obviously it caught everyone by surprise, including myself. It’s something he feels he needed to do, so it’s best of luck to him and hopefully he enjoys his time there. But as far as him leaving the team and him not being there, there’s nothing we can change about it. We just need to move ahead and keep going forward. I think Mr. Lamoriello and the coaching staff there has done an amazing job this summer of bringing guys in and filling those voids. As I said I’m excited for the season to get underway and think NJ is going to be a team to be reckoned with."

JR: Lou goes out and lands a pretty damn good goalie in Cory Schneider.

AH: "Again, Another surprise there. I watched the draft, and I watched everything happen. I was just happy I wasn't the one who was traded (laughing). I think bringing Cory in is going to be awesome and he’s going to be a great friend to learn from Marty, who’s obviously been in every situation. I know I've learned a lot from Marty just being in the room and talking to him. I’m sure it’s going to be a great situation for both goalies and the team obviously. I know Marty has a year left, but maybe he’ll surprise us with a couple more? Obviously the goaltending situation for the Future has been solved now."

JR: You got to be pretty excited to play with Jaromir Jagr this year.

AH: "Again, another great move by MR. Lamoriello. It’s going to be pretty awesome to be able to walk into the room and see him there and be a part of the team. I’m excited to get things started and I think things are going to be good in NJ and obviously we want to rebound from last year."

JR: You guys added some toughness too with the addition of Ryane Clowe.

AH: "He can do a bit of everything. I think it’s another great addition. I love the moves that have been made by New Jersey, I think the Team is solid now from Top to bottom. Again I’m excited to get the season started, it’s going to be a great year!"
