I Just got into Philadelphia where the Blues and the Flyers will skate Saturday night.

Sources close to the Red Wings organization say the club is eyeing four players as they attempt to land a power forward.

Detroit General Manager Ken Holland is pursuing Todd Bertuzzi, Bill Guerin, Keith Tkachuk, and Peter Forsberg.

Forsberg makes the most sense when you consider he would be united with fellow countrymen Nicklas Lidstrom, Tomas Holmstrom, and Henrik Zetterberg.

If Detroit lands Forsberg watch out!

I’m not so sure how Guerin being traded to Detroit would play out if you think about the fact that Chris Chelios was among a group of players that filed a lawsuit against Billy Guerin and the other members of the NHLPA executive committee.

Detroit has cap space and prospects to deal.

Bertuzzi is expected to return to the Florida lineup within a week. Teams want to see him play a few games before taking a flyer on him.

Tkachuk is attracting the attention of the Minnesota Wild as well. He would be reunited with his good buddy Pavol Demitra. A power play that consists of Tkachuk, Demitra, Brian Rolston, and Marian Gaborik would certainly be worth the price of admission.

Detroit goaltender Chris Osgood should return to the lineup within the next week. He’s been out of the lineup since mid January with a broken finger.

Blues Clues!

Forward Dan Hinote did not make the trip to Philadelphia. If his injured shoulder does not improve, surgery has not entirely been ruled out. He has begun skating and could return to the lineup next week.

Martin Rucinsky and Jay Mckee remain out of the lineup.

The Frozen Four committee is trying to arrange a game between the Blues Alumni and the Red Wings Alumni to be played in St. Louis during the Frozen Four weekend in April. Former Blues and Red Wings d-man Lee Norwood is trying to organize a Detroit team to travel to St. Louis for the game.

There are four separate radio stations that have expressed serious interest in acquiring the Blues broadcast rights if they leave KTRS radio after this season.

Apparently 93.7 the Bull is making a strong push. Don’t rule out the possibility of an FM station serving as the flagship with the games being simulcast on 1120 AM.

More to come,
