Darren Archibald

I expect this year to be the year that Canucks fans will get to see exactly what Darren Archibald can be.

At 6’3, 210 pounds, with decent hands, Archibald have what Vancouver needs. He ‘can’ be a beast along the boards and is a player that should excel in the new division, where a grinding style will surely be played.

The big questions around Archibald in the past have been his work ethic and skating. While his skating has improved since junior, at 23, it is what it is. As long as he’s good enough to get where he needs to be he’ll be fine. And as far as work ethic concerns go, I can’t see that being an issue under Torts.

This is in a sense a make or break type season for him. Can he out play Tom Sestito for a spot in camp?

Time will tell, but we know he has better hands, so don’t rule Archibald out as the 12/13 forward.

Until tomorrow my friends, stay classy

Ian
