Brandon Yip Closes Out The Lineup

I wondered who the Coyotes would select to add via free agency (if at all) the last real opening on the roster, which could either have been a 2nd line LW spot or a 4th line RW spot. The Coyotes went with the fourth line option and went cheap on Brandon Yip.

The 28 year old has bounced around a bit after two decent showings for Colorado with 11 and 13 goal years respectfully. Yip scored 3 goals and had 8 points in 34 games for the Nashville Predators on their fourth line. He's a solid option on the fourth line and has shown in very limited chances to score over 10 goals...not that I expect that. Yip will mostly be known for being one of the two selections for the NHL14 cover available from the Predators in what can only be described as laugh out loud hilarious by EA, voted consistently as the worst company in North America.

The contract is a one-year deal that is a two-way contract worth $750,000.

Should be a decent fit.

Here is what the team will more than likely go into the season looking like.

Boedker – Ribeiro – Doan

Korpikoski – Hanzal – Vrbata

Klinkhammer – Vermette – Moss

Bissonnette – Chipchura – Yip

Should Max Domi make the team I would expect Bissonnette to be sitting in the press box a lot, or Yip being waived.

Thanks for reading this extremely irrelevant piece of news.
