I'm a big fan of Amerks head coach Chadd Cassidy.
He met the press today and he noted that he wanted to stay and be the fill time, permanent head coach in Rochester rather than being an assistant on Ron Rolston's Sabres squad down the I-90. I respect Cassidy for his honesty and passion. He wants to be a head coach, not an assistant coach. He also wants to keep his young family in Rochester. I respect that too. Cassidy will get his shot at the NHL, but not this season. He's psyched for the opportunity to be able to coach some of the best young pro prospects in North America.
Cassidy will have Chris Taylor as his right hand man. Another assistant coach will be added later. Veterans Matt Ellis and Mike Zigomanis will act as coaches on the ice for the young kids. Should be a memorable season in Rochester with the kids who don't make the Buffalo squad making the Amerks roster. I love that the rosters are not frozen and that performance will dictate who plays and who doesn't with the Sabres and Amerks this season. Finally, its all about accountability.

I for one don't give a crap when people go out of their way to slag Bieber. Cut the kid some slack. Is he Elvis, Bono, or Mick Jagger? No. Does he make the best music ever? Hardly.
Does he make questionable decisions at times? Yes. Thats what teenagers do.
I guess I'd react differently if I didn't have three teenage daughters.
The kid is harmless. He's bubble gum. No harm, no foul.
My wife and I are like 18,000+ other fathers and mothers of teen-aged daughters who are getting ready to drop off our daughter and her friends at First Niagara Center for the Justin Bieber concert.
Did he make a mistake last week when he posed with the Stanley Cup? No. The Hawks brought it in for him to pose with and he did.
Today, Sabres goalie Jhonas Enroth took a playful poke at Bieber.
