Here is a roundup of the latest rumors involving the Maple Leafs.

Vincent Lecavalier: Josh Rimer and Howard Berger have reported that the Leafs have reached out to Lecavalier’s agent, but the line will be long 33 year old center. The list of teams that have expressed interest so far are Boston, Montreal, St. Louis, Dallas, Florida, Carolina, Anaheim and many others.

Sportsnet’s Scott Morrison and the Toronto Sun’s Lance Hornby report that the Leafs management team have arrived at the same New York City hotel that the former Tampa Bay Lightning first pick and his representatives are located. TSN's Ryan Rishaug indicates that Lecavalier has met with four teams already and will meet the Leafs and Red Wings this evening.

Reports indicate that Lecavalier and his camp will take at least a week to field all offers and make a decision on where he will go.

David Clarkson: TSN’s Bob Mckenzie reports that Clarkson expects going to the way of unrestricted free agency on July 5 and that the financially strapped Devils have yet to make a substantial offer to the 29 year old winger.

The Leafs are expected to be in the bidding for Clarkson, but Philadelphia and Boston, with the announcement that winger Nathan Horton is going to test free agency, are also expected to be in hot pursuit.

Kris Letang: No news on the Letang to Toronto front, if there ever was any real chance of it. ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun reports that the Pens and agent Kent Hughes(who also represents Lecavalier), were to meet with Pittsburgh GM Ray Shero on Saturday afternoon. Letang is looking to get a similar AAV to Nashville’s Shea Weber($7.5 Million to $8 Million per season) for the maximum eight years after rejecting the Pens offer of $7 Million per season.

LeBrun indicates that Shero had made calls to teams interested in obtaining the Norris Trophy finalist, but that the trade rumors have resuscitated contact negotiations.

Look for a deal of some description to be made in the next few weeks between the Leafs and Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers are highly motivated to make trades with new GM Craig MacTavish and coach Dallas Eakins, and the Leafs have a number of players that Eakins is familiar with from his days as Toronto Marlies head coach.

Check back for updates throughout the evening.
