Thirsty? Have some Letang |

Remember that blog a few hours ago? Well, forget it. I've got a fresh one for you.
Someone posted on my Facebook page that TSN's Bob MacKenzie says the Oilers will deal their 1st round pick. Forget about it being for Dion Phaneuf...Most ridiculous overpayment in history.
The Penguins have too much against the cap and Kris Letang wants $7mil+ per season. The Oilers have been starving for a true top pairing defenseman since Paul Coffey left.
What would it take to get Letang? More than just the Oilers 1st, sadly.
Okay. Let me take a stab at it...
Oscar Klefbom, plus the Oilers 1st round pick, plus Magnus Paajarvi. And the only way the Oilers make this deal is if Letang signs a long-term extension at least six years in length.
The Pens get a stud prospect in Klefbom, a guy who still might turn into a 2nd line winger in Paajarvi, a quality prospect (Nurse, or Ristolainen, or Nichushkin or Monahan), and a whole lot of cap relief.
Thoughts? Is this possible, or am I just talking out of my ass again?
