While Martin Brodeur at home running a Twitter campaign with his brother to try and get on the cover of NHL14, some other New Jersey Devils players are in Europe representing their countries at the World Hockey Championships.

Let's take a look at how they're doing.

- Ilya Kovalchuk had three shots in a 2-1 Russia loss to France this morning. Yes, Russia lost...to France. They say every dog has its day so perhaps this is France's day. Russia has done very well in the tournament and this loss doesn't really hurt them so there's nothing to worry about there. I expect Russia will pick up at least a Bronze medal with the way Kovalchuk has been playing. Andrei Loktionov has done well for Russia, too.

- USA picked up a very impressive 4-1 win over Finland yesterday. Devils forward Stephen Gionta scored and was +1 in 12:40 of ice time.

- Gionta's linemate, both on USA and in New Jersey, Ryan Carter did not register a point but was also +1 in the win. Carter played 14:44 and had six minutes in penalties.

- On a completely different note, the Brodeur's are running a heck of a campaign to try and get on the cover of NHL14. As of yesterday, Brodeur was leading all candidates in voting. Given that Brodeur's the best goaltender of all time, is nearing the conclusion to his NHL career and has never been on the cover of the game, I think it would be cool if he made the cover this year. It obviously would mean a lot to him and he's having fun with the campaign so it'd be nice for him to grace the cover. He's about as deserving of a candidate as you will find, too.

Devils fans can vote as many times as they want on Twitter by using the hashtag "#NHL14Brodeur". If you're making a tweet about your lunch, I recommend you still use the hashtag as every vote counts. Votes count double on Thursday's, I believe.
