I've got a couple of rumors to report and a couple others to dissect.
On the new rumor front, I heard yesterday from a source in Canada that the Hawks continue to have interest in Ottawa W Chris Neil, but now also W Guillaume Latendresse. The common denominator: size and varying degrees of skill.
Another rumor has the Maple Leafs shopping W's Clarke MacArthur and Nikolai Kulemin, and the Hawks interested specifically in Kulemin. Kulemin is believed (by some) to have some unreached offensive potential to go with good size.
Hawk player personnel director Pierre Gauthier and chief scout Ryan Stewart have been reported to be scouting both teams heavily in recent weeks.
A rumor reported elsewhere yesterday has the Hawks talking to Columbus about C Brandon Dubinsky. I have heard many rumors surrounding the Hawks and Jackets over the last year or two, but never Dubinsky's name. Not sure on this one.
Another rumor out of New Jersey has the Devils shopping W David Clarkson. I do know the Hawks were keenly interested in Clarkson at this time last year, and I would not be surprised if they are in on this discussion right now.
