The Vancouver Canucks will host the Calgary Flames for the second time this season tonight. Cory Schneider will get the start in net as the pendulum swings back his way. Both teams come into this one on highs, as Vancouver has won four in a row, while Calgary has won their last two.

One thing we know is this will be an exciting game. No matter who I talk to around Calgary, one thing is certain amongst Flames fans and that is this team is fun to watch. Bob Hartley's new system has the Flames playing a "track meet" style that is all about opening things up. Because of this Cory Schneider will need to be sharp because Calgary will get their chances.

The downside for the Flames is this new style will often lead to a lot of odd man rushes coming their way as well. To win tonight, Vancouver will need to capitalize on these chances. That will be a tall task because the last time Vancouver face the man in the Calgary net they were held in check. Leland Irving will need to play just as well if Calgary wants to win tonight.

I expect we will see a back and forth game with Vancouver taking control in the third.

5-3 Canucks

That’s a wrap.

Ian
