Booth

Ok, just stop it Vancouver fans. There is no need to panic, because we are talking about being without David Booth. David freaking Booth people… David Booth. The guy is a 16 goal scorer, who I would rate as the somewhere between the tenth-to-twelfth best player.

The Canucks still have one of the best lines in the NHL. They still have two of the best goaltenders in the NHL. And they still have one of the best groups of defencemen in the NHL.

David Booth slides out, another 16-goal scorer in Jannik Hansen slides in and the team will likely not even miss a beat. Kassian slides into Hansen’s spot and all is good in the hood.

So, now their second-line is Hansen/Higgins/Raymond instead of Booth/Higgins/Raymond. No real difference.

This is the same team that went 8-1-1 down the stretch without Daniel Sedin and a one armed Ryan Kesler. Kesler will be back soon, and there is no way that David Booth’s injury is as big as Daniel’s was last year.

This team is still good and this team will still be near the top of the conference when it’s all said and done so relax and enjoy the ride.

Thoughts?

Gomez

Do I want to see Gomez in a Vancouver season this year? HELL YAAA! At the right price Gomez is exactly the kind of player that Vancouver need. While everyone is focusing on the fact the guy went a full year without scoring a goal, what I would like to focus on are the positives

-Two Stanley Cup rings
-0.71 points per game during the playoffs, only Henrik Sedin has a higher production rate (0.75)
- He is a centre, who can play on the second or third-line in Vancouver

So by those three positives, Gomez is an excellent fit. He brings with him the experience of winning the cup; something Vancouver could use. He has got the job done in the playoffs; again, something Vancouver could use. And lastly, he can play the second or third-line centre position; something Vancouver could use.

For me, one year, 850K is pretty fair. Canucks get what they need and Gomez gets to stay close to home.
And as far as AV goes, I don’t care if you’re not interested. Gomez will help you.

Thoughts?

Redden

Not much to say about Wade Redden. Does Vancouver need the guy? Not really. But, you can never have enough NHL defenceman.

If he would play for 700K like Barker, well Sure, I’m on board. If he is looking for more than that, Vancouver has no real need for him.

Thoughts?

That's a wrap
