10:07 am: Check out our Isles friend CJ Papa as he hosts Fios1 'Sunrise' News this morning. Jack Capuano called in about today's 'Hockey with a Heart event.'

7 am: As this is Veterans Day in the US (observed) for schools and public offices, take time to thank those who served for our freedom.

Also, if you have off today and are in the area of the Nassau Coliseum, head over to Hockey with a Heart and make a donation of food or money or anything you can to help the Red Cross and Island Harvest in their Sandy Relief efforts.

Meanwhile -- The Bridgeport Sound Tigers are on a roll. Their games over the weekend against the CT Whale produced great results and Anders Nilsson returned to from his 'undisclosed injury.'

I can't and won't give you game recaps as I didn't listen to the games this weekend as I was otherwised engaged. But I am noticing some interesting things.

Did you know that Brock Nelson and Nino Niederreiter are the ninth and tenth top scorers in the AHL? So, the high school kid and the round one draft pick are doing exceptionally well for the Tigers.

In contrast, Kevin Poulin is ranking 31st amount goal tenders. Pick up those numbers Kevin.
Travis Hamonic is finally on the plus side where that "G" is on the scoresheet. He now has two goals and four assists for six points and is one PIM ahead of Colin McDonald at 27. Some things never change.

Brandon Defazio and Casey Cizikas are also doing nicely for Scott Pellerin's team with eight points for Zeeker and six for Brandon. If and when the NHL ever does return, Jack Capuano is going to have a hard time making decisions as to who should be on the roster.

Anyone paying attention to "MoVember"? Another charitable idea hit hard by the NHL lockout. I can't seem to really pay attention or care about something I can't see. Just another casualty of the foolishness that is this labor dispute.

If anyone would like to send me photos from Bridgeport this weekend @ me on Twitter or DM me here, I'll be happy to post them.

Also, I keep hearing that our buddy BD Gallof has quite a can of worms for Nassau County and the arena deal failure. Can't wait for that one!

Hug a vet, donate for Sandy relief, treat others as you wish to be treated and have a good Monday.
