Coming off a 2-1 road loss to the Peoria Rivermen, the Ice Hogs take on the Charlotte Checkers in the first of back to back games tonight in Rockford.

Peter Leblanc got the lone goal for the Hogs, in front of some solid goaltending by Carter Hutton. Thus far this season, the issue for Rockford has been scoring goals, while their goaltending has been outstanding as has their penalty kill.

PROSPECTS

Philip Danault has cooled off in goal scoring over the last few games, but his assists have caught up with his goals, and he now has 22 points (11/11) in 13 games with Victoriaville (QMJHL).

Mark McNeill has 11 points (5/6) in 12 games at Prince Albert (WHL).

Teuvo Teravainen has 2 goals and 4 assists and is even in 13 games with Jokerit in the Finnish SM Liiga. It's important to note that this is a men's pro league with many former (and some "current") NHL players.

LOCKOUT

I've noticed a lot of people coming in and going back out on the ledge with each pronouncement by both the NHL and the Players' Association. Sitting back and taking a larger perspective, they are making progress. A lot of it. Sabre-rattling and gloom and doom are just a daily part of the process.

For what it's worth, I still believe the season will begin around 12/1.

All for now, more on the Hogs on Monday.
