NHL ANNOUNCES CANCELLATION OF REMAINING PRESEASON SCHEDULE
Islanders Home Preseason Games At Barclays Center & Nassau Coliseum Cancelled
UNIONDALE, NY (September 27, 2012) – The National Hockey League announced today the cancellation of the remaining preseason schedule. The League had previously cancelled all preseason games scheduled during the month of September.
The Islanders had two home preseason games scheduled in October. On Tuesday, Oct. 2 the Islanders were to face-off against the New Jersey Devils in the first NHL Game ever played in Brooklyn, NY, at the Barclays Center. The Islanders were set to conclude their five-game preseason schedule against the New York Rangers on Thursday, Oct. 4, at Nassau Coliseum.

A quick Tweet from the NY Islanders account is announcing that the Bridgeport Sound Tiger training camp at Ice Works on Saturday Sept. 29th will be open to the public.

Now before you change your morning plans, I'm certain there will be restrictions, which they said 'are coming shortly.' Whether you have to reserve (as space is indeed limited) in advance or will only accept the first 150 patrons, I am not sure. But as soon as it is announced, I'll post it.

Saturday's on-ice schedule is 10am - 11:30 am.

More details as they arrive.

And here they are:
Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the Islanders top minor league affiliate, open Training Camp this weekend and will hold their first on-ice workout this Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10-11:30 a.m. at Islanders Iceworks in Syosset.

Practice is open to the public and the first 250 fans in attendance are guaranteed admission. At the completion of the players’ day, fans will have the chance to meet Sound Tigers forwards Casey Cizikas and David Ullstrom. Both will sign autographs and pose for photos.

The Islanders will also hold an exclusive event the following weekend for season ticket holders, group leaders, suite holders and sponsors. For more information, contact an Islanders customer service representative at 1-800-882-ISLES ext. 2 or email [email protected]
