Lou Lamoriello and the New Jersey Devils did a little bit of house keeping today, signing defense prospects Reece Scarlett and Damon Severson to three-year entry-level contracts. As per club policy, no further details were released.

Scarlett, 19, tallied 49 points (9 goals, 40 assists) and 74 penalty minutes last season in the Western Hockey League with a very poor Swift Current Broncos team.

Severson, 18, registered 37 points (seven goals, 30 assists) and 80 penalty minutes last season with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL.

Scarlett was the Devils 6th round pick in the 2011 NHL draft, where as Severson was the Devils 2nd round pick in the 2012 NHL draft.

Scarlett and Severson will play with their respective WHL teams this year.
