Per the Globe and Mail's James Mirtle, the Leafs have signed forward Leo Komarov to a one year contract.

The joy of the victory that was felt at Ricoh Coliseum when the Toronto Marlies into the Calder Cup Finals has been tempered with the announcement that Matt Frattin, who leads the AHL in goal scoring, will be lost for the remainder of the playoffs with a knee injury.

The 24 year old Frattin was injured while scoring into the empty Oklahoma City net with 42 seconds remaining in the series clinching game Friday night.

According to Kyle Cicerella, who covers the Marlies extensively, there is no description of the severity of the injury and no timetable for rehabilitation.

The Marlies begin the pursuit of an AHL Championship Friday night in Norfolk and in addition to the absence of their leading goal scorer, they will likely start the series without forwards Mike Zigomanis, Nazem Kadri, Marcel Mueller and Carter Ashton.

2010 Leafs third rounder Greg McKegg, who played for London in the Memorial Cup Finals against Shawinigan over the weekend practiced with the club this morning and may be called upon to step in.
