The good news was that Nicklas Grossmann did a little bit more today at Skate Zone, though he did not fully participate in all practice drills.

The Flyers injury paranoia has reached such extremes that even veterans like Grossmann and fearful of saying something wrong.

By the time Game 1 of the second round comes this weekend - likely Sunday - he will have had 11 days from the time he was concussed in Game 4 of the Penguins series. Which means he should be in the lineup.

"I don’t know. It’s tough to say. We’ll see," Grossman said.

What is of concern here is that he said it was "hard to tell" if he feels any different than he did a week ago. He has to show progress before he is cleared to play again. If he has flat-lined and is still having some symptoms - however minor - the medical staff is not supposed to clear him.

Grossmann could not even say how many concussions he has had in his career.

"It’s just good to be back on the ice," he said. "As I said, I’m just gonna take it day-by-day."

Now even though Andrej Meszaros practiced again, he is a real long shot to play in this series although he admitted he might be a little ahead of his own schedule for a return.

"Sometimes I have a good day, sometimes I have a bad day, so it depends," said Meszaros who is recovering from herniated disk surgery in his back.

"Day by day and go from there. It was a serious injury so I don’t want to go out there no 100 percent, so we’ll see. Every day is different.

"Sometimes it’s sore when I wake up, sometimes not. After skates it’s a little tight. It depends what I do every day. Sometimes I do more, sometimes I do less."

Give this to Meszaros. He was more candid than Grossmann. When asked how he will know he is ready to play, he replied, "When I'm pain free."
