Thomas Vanek's stay in "chateau bow wow" didn't last long.

He was given early release for good behaviour by the boss and was back with Roy and Pommer at today's skate.

Here are the lines from practice:

26-9-29
23-63-21
42-28-36
37-22-54

Vanek probably needed a GPS unit to find his way back to his customary left wing position on line one.

He's played a lot of right wing lately, and has been from the first line to the fourth line and back/ His recect injury has something to do with that. His offensive zone penalty in the first period of the Montreal loss had something to do with it as well.

After sitting out the majority of the first period in the loss to Montreal, Vanek was re-united with Roy and Pominville. He has 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 15 games and he needs to get back to his scoring ways.

After today's skate, Vanek said that he doesn't care who he plays with.

"Whoever you play with, you still just try to play your game and try to be good at it," Vanek said. "We had some chemistry. We haven’t been that long apart. We’ll have to ramp it up again. We played the last 10 minutes together [Friday], had a few good chances, I thought, and we’ll try to build off that."

Ruff said Friday night that he has had several conversations this season with Vanek about his ill-timed penalties. The coach reserves the right to sit players and he did so by stapling his second leading goal scorer to the pine vs. Montreal.

Thanks to my two bros, James and Potter from 103.3 The Edge in Buffalo.

I was driving through downtown Buffalo on the north bound 190 when I heard the Arkells performing an "Edge Session" live to air concert from the studios of The Edge. I did what most rock-n-roll puckheads would do....

I floored it to the studios and sat in on their last song "Hugo Chavez".

I met Max and Mike from the band and posed for a cool picture.

Spoiler alert: Max told me that "The Whistle Blower" is indeed on the set list tonight and he said that the boys want to drink til 4am after the show!

Catch Arkells live at the legendary Town Ball Room in Buffalo tonight.

Thanks, James and Potter!

The Sabres better eat their Wheaties on Sunday morning. The Penguins beat the Flyers 6-4 on Saturday afternoon.
