Wed 2/15/12 7:39 am: ugh, my head. Champagne & this weather are not a good mix. The Isles have the day off today as they travel to St. Louis to face the Blues on Thursday.

There is a viewing party on Thursday at Miller's Ale house in Levittown. Check the Isles Twitter feed or their main site.

I'd like to thank Trevor for his photos and updates from the arena last night. Helped to really bring the "away" game "home" to me.

I also just noticed that @Markpherrmann said that they booed John Tavares every time her touched the puck for "no apparent reason other than he's an all-star." Well, that's bogus for Canada's native son. He doesn't deserve that at all.

11:45 pm: I'll take the win as an anniversary present and head to bed.

It's Valentine's Day here in the states and the Isles face the Jets with a game that will keep us up late. But that's okay. It's cozy on the couch by the fire.

The Jets have a few more points than the Isles, but not many. However they have won their last few games. The Isles have not.

Jack Capuano's line-up tonight cause a bit of a stir on Twitter today. Nabokov is in net, but it seems that Marty Reasoner has been removed from the IR and will skate with Pandolfo and Niederreiter. Wallace is out.

The Jet's Blake Wheeler told Mark Herrmann from Newsday that tonight is "desperate vs. desperate." To say the least.

This could be anyone's game but it will be the first few minutes that will set the tone.
Capuano will be shuffling lines so everyone keep their head on a swivel.

Now, lucky for me I have eyes and ears in Winnepeg tonight. @TrevorBernat has made the trip and will be one of the few Isles fans in Winnepeg tonight. I hope he's safe. But he's promised me photos and eye witness accounts from a fan point of view.

I look forward to it... since it's my anniversary and I will only have one eye on the TV. ;o)

Getting ready to skate

End of 2 and Matt Moulson looks just a little downtrodden with Peter. It's 1 - 1 after two periods of hockey. The question is which ref has money on this game as the calls seem sto be questionable.

I asked Trevor what he thought of the game so far there and how the refs seem to be doing:

All I can say is wtf is embellishment on PA? He was hit from behind. Isles played better the second and love that Niño getting more icetime

Yes, Nino exhibited some selfless play there a few times. But in all honesty, Nino... YOU NEED TO SCORE FOR YOU!

1:36 of the third and the Isles take a 2 - 1 lead on a Parenteau goal. As Butchie said, it was a five man effort on the goal. It's his 12th of the season.

So I asked Trevor how he was being treated as an Isles fan in enemy territory and it seems that everyone is being very nice to him and he even met a few people from Long Island.

The Jets get their second penalty ofthe night as Rolston is called for tripping. Incidental contact but enogh to get a penalty as Butchie said. How good will the PK be here?

10:45 pm> PA Parenteau gets called for a penalty but doesn't quite beleive it. They'r doing well.

The 2nd and 3rd have looked good. Gotta give Winnipeg credit, everyone I talk to loves JT. The wave going around now and the Jets are down

The Isles are close to winning this one with 1:26 left of the third and Nabby making some excellent saves. Trevor also said what I had thought. Ness has been playing well for a a kid.

Matt Martin just gets an empty net goal due to PA Parenteau's patience with the puck in the jet's zone with an empty net. Nice to have it be Matty Marts getting the empty netter.

Nice win for the Isles on the Road! #isles on Twitpic

Isles win. But they can't get ahead of themselves as the St. Louis Blues have been playing great lately. They know the test ahead of them.
