Glory Days: 1993

So I made a comment in my thoughts from last night about the Leafs honouring their 1992-93 team and it seems a few Leaf fans got upset (edit: as it turns out it was more of a reunion in Sundin's box rather than an officially sanctioned club event but it did generate some attention both on the broadcast and in the paper today). To show that I have nothing against remembering good times and old friends coming together, I put together a song for Leaf fans.

The question for today is what was your favorite memory from the 93 playoff run? And for fans of other teams, when were your "Glory Days" and what is your fondest memory from the 90s?

Enjoy!

PS I'm not sure if Nik the Stick was actually in the building. Let me know if you saw him. Also, the Kerry Fraser thing is just a joke. I know Leaf fans have moved on since then and forgiven him..

"Glory Days"

I had a friend was a little hockey player

back in '93

He could score the biggest goals

Until he lost his spleen

Saw him the other night at the ACC

He was in box with Burns and Berg

He was inside sitting down having a few drinks

but all Nik kept saying was "Unbelievable"

Glory days well they'll pass you by

Glory days in the wink of Borchevsky's eye

Glory days, glory days

Well then there's Wendel, he lives up the block

back in 93 he could turn all the boy's heads

Sometimes on a Saturday I'll stop by

and watch The Passion Returns wishing Kerry Fraser was dead

He and my boy Dougie well they both retired

I guess it's few years gone by now

We just sit around talking about the old times,

he says when he feels like crying

he starts laughing thinking about that wraparound goal

Glory days well they'll pass you by

Glory days made Foligno jump so high

Glory days, glory days

Now I think I'm going down to the ACC tonight

and I'm going to drink till I get my fill

And I hope when I get old I don't sit around thinking about 1993

but I probably will

Yeah, just sitting back trying to recapture

a little of the glory of, well time slips away

and leaves you with Belak and Kilger and

great stories of glory days

Glory days well they'll pass you by

Glory days Anderson sure could fly

Glory days, glory days

Glory days well they'll pass you by

Glory days Potvin was quite a guy

Glory days, glory days
