10:34 pm: With Dylan Reese leaving the Philly arena in a leg brace and awaiting re-evaluation tomorrow. Now, if he can't play and Jurcina's laceration hasn't sufficiently healed by Thursday we may actually see Matt Donovan. Which means I may actually get my wish.

9:37 pm: And shoot out, Nielsen up first, and he scores on Bryz for the first goal of the night.

Danny Briere against Nabby and while Nabby was inside the net himself, he managed to stop it low.

John Tavares scores a strong shot above the pad.

Simmonds had to score in order to keep the Flyers alive. And... doesn't.

Evgeni Nabokov stole this game from the Flyers. As Butchie said, Nabby was "magnificient." Taking two points out of Philly is a feat and a half.

9:32: 43 - 17 Flyers have outshot the Isles and Nabby has made 43 saves hwich is a season high.

9:29: We're in overtime with at least one point out of Philly with a full mooon over the rink. No matt what, that's not bad.

9:11 pm: With only four D left, Rakhshani takes a puck to the face and ends up with cotton up his nose but stays on the bench. There is still no score with 8:55 left of the third. 37 - 16 Philly in SOG. Nabokov has been standing on his head. There have also been quite a few missed called. Like that last interference call.

Hartnell actually collides with Jagr and he's huffing and puffing on the bench. Nice touch.

8:54 pm: Not your typical Isles Flyers game as we are still scoreless after 40. But we've lost Dylan Reese to injury. That's not a good thing.

7:59 pm: No score after the first but the good news that Frans Nielsen has signed for four years. Official word to come tomorrow.

11:56 am: It seems that P.A. Parenteau isn't as sick as they thought yesterday and is deemed game worthy. I hope that is for real, because if he gets everyone else sick this will be a miserable weekend at the barn. Did everyone get their flu shot? No, really.

11:20 am: Yep, Capuano agrees. Nabokov in net and Ness paired with Eaton while MacDonald is paired with Dylan Reese. All forward lines remain the same.

8 am: The Isles broke the Flyers winning spell over them the last time they met on January 19th with a 4 - 1 victory. There is no way in hell the Flyers will let that happen again. Not on home ice. Not in Philly. Nope.

That’s what the Flyers are probably saying today as they prepare. Meanwhile the Isles are saying, “We beat them once before, we can beat them again.”

They’ll have to do it this time without Jurcina and Hamonic. Instead they will give Aaron Ness a trial by Flyer tonight. Oh boy.

Danny Briere may be back tonight from concussion or he could sit out another day. I actually didn’t even realize that JVR (James Van Riemsdyk) was out indefinitely. That’s a shame. But the Isles will actually have to watch out for Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds who has goals in three straight games.

While the Isles are still trying to stay in the playoff hunt and battling, the Flyers dropped two games over the weekend to both the Rangers and the Devils. The last thing they’ll want to do is lose to the Islanders to make it a tri-fecta.

Other Bridgeport call-up Rhett Rakhshani was pleased to have his Bport team mate called up. Matt Moulson chirped at the two rookies on the bus trip to Philly on Twitter. What may save them is the familiarity with each other. But this is Aaron’s chance to show what he’s learned and how well he fits in against NHLers.

Is this a full moon tonight? I know it won’t be a stretch for me to say I don’t believe the Isles will leave Philly tonight with the points. But with the spell broken, and the Flyers on a losing streak, just maybe the stars will be aligned for the Isles.

I’ll also venture a guess that it will be Evgeni Nabokov in net as he won the last outing. I would also venture to guess the Isles will see Sergei Bobrovsky in net at the other end of the rink.

More as the details become final. Have a great day.
