Jason Pominville had himself a beauty of an All Star Game. He skated in the first period with MILL Hall of Famer, Johnny Tavares' nephew, JT, and Pittsburgh Penguin sniper James Neal.
Down 3-1 in the first period to Team Chara, Pommer assisted on Tavares' beauty of a goal at 13:49.
At 7:17 of the second period, Pommer scored a dandy by banking the puck in off of Montreal tender, Carey Price. Neal and Stamkos with the assists.
Kevin Snow of the Sabres reminds us that Jason Pominville is first Sabre to score in an All-Star Game since Brian Campbell in 2008 at Atlanta.
Despite a late push, Team Alfredsson loses 12-9 to Team Chara.
Marian Gaborik was voted game MVP (3 goals and an assist). He and his Rangers will be in Buffalo on Wednesday night.

Now that the Grab Ass Fest is over, lets shift our focus to more meaningful hockey. The Sabres have 33 games remaining. They practice Monday, then head to Montreal for their HUGE four point brawl with the Habs on Tuesday night. Then, its back home for a Wednesday night tilt with the top team in the Eastern Conference, the NY Rangers.
I expect the numbers of scouts from opposing teams to increase at Sabres games this week.
Derek Roy, Paul Gaustad, Brad Boyes, and Reggie Sekera will be buzzworthy players as the trade deadline approaches.
Begs the question:
Are the Sabres "Buyers" or "Sellers" right now?
Whats the strategy moving forward, post All Star Game?
