In last night's NHL All-Star Skills Competition, Jamie Benn showed the rest of the hockey world what the Stars already know: he is one hell of a skilled hockey player.

Returning from an emergency appendectomy to participate in the All-Star weekend, Benn won the Accuracy Shooting competition with an excellent first round, followed by a spectacular showing in the finals against Philadelphia Flyers rookie forward Matt Read. Later, he went 3-for-3 in shooting one-timers from a sharp angle during the Skills Relay.

Today, Benn will play for Team Chara in the All-Star Game.

In the final weekend of games before the AHL's All-Star break, the Texas Stars stumbled for the second straight night. Last night, the Stars dropped a 3-1 decision in Oklahoma City. The All-Star Skills Competition takes place today at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. The ASG will be held tomorrow.

With the Stars trailing 2-0 last night, Francis Wathier snapped his ninth goal of year over the glove of Baron's goaltender David Leneveu. Tomas Vincour and Brenden Connolly drew assists on the goal. The team was unable to find an equalizer.

Andrew Raycroft turned back 42 of 44 shots in a losing effort last night. The final Oklahoma City goal was an empty netter.
