Sabres just hit the ice.

From @BillHoppeSabres:

Thomas Vanek, Paul Szczechura, Pat Kaleta, and Brad Boyes are all on.

MA Gragnani is your scratch tonight. Its the second straight healthy scratch for Gragnani.

Your line trios and D:

HDTV-Roy-Pommer
Whitmore-Chewie-Staff
McCormick-Ellis-Kickassian
Adam-Goose-Kaleta

McNasty-Ehrhoff
Leopold-Weber
Sekera-Regehr

Speaking of D, Tyler Myers is stick handling and working his twig skills with Teppo Numminen. An excellent sign. His wheels are in great shape because he's been skating for weeks. Once his wrist feels comfortable and he can tee up shots, he'll be ready to go.

I expect Myers to play on Boxing Day vs. Washington.

Reimer will start for the Leafs.

Nazem Kadri and Darryl Boyce are call-ups from the Marlies and will play.

Either Cody Franson or Jake Gardiner will sit for Toronto.

Tonight will be a great time for Fu Man Drew to make a cameo. Pehaps the Fu Man can kick Stafford in the duff and get him producing points again. The Sabres need Stafford now!

All kidding aside, I thinka big part of Stafford's early season struggles is that he is not having fun on the ice. He's at his best when he is loose and riffing. He seems to be to be to worried about being a leader on the bench and on the ice. The "A" on his sweater may just be a burden to him. He's not injured. He's just analyzing the game too much right now. I think that he's trying too hard to show ownership, management, coaches and his teammates that he's worthy of the big contract extension and that he is to be trusted as a leader.

Staff should just settle down, bust some chops and have some fun. Ryan Miller talked at length on Monday about how he had fun on the ice with his boys after practice. This coming from a guy who rarely lets his guard down.

Marcus Foligno, Joe Finley, Alex Biega and the Amerks perform their "12 Days Of Hockey". Hilarious!

The Buffalo Sabres today announced that the team will host an Ugly Sweater Party in the Buffalo Sabres Tailgate Party Tent Presented by Labatt Blue Light before the team’s game against the Washington Capitals on Monday, Dec. 26.

Time to raid Dad's closet!

If you don't have HBO, you need to get it quick!

Season Two of '24/7" is comedy gold!

Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov is both creepy and hilarious at the same time.

Here's a slice of last night's episode where Bryz gets the gears grinded on him by his teammates, after the goalie gave his views on astronomy, the solar system, tigers, and booze on the premiere episode.

Thanks, Puck Daddy

Bryzgalov is a beauty! I can't get enough of the guy!

Last Friday night in Buffalo, Leafs captain, Dion Phaneuf, earned himself a five, ten, and a game for smashing Kickassian from behind on the glass behind Reimer's net.

Nothing says "Happy Holiday" quite like hammering a 6'3 225 lb. power forward's face off the glass. Kassian would need three stitches to close the gash on his chin caused by the cowardly collision. Something tells me that Kickassian will have a little something for Phaneuf tonight.

After the game, Phaneuf said that he didn't mean to board Kassian. If he didn't mean it, then why did he stab a guy in the back while he was staring at his numbers and nameplate on the back of the Sabre players' sweater?

The Sabres were expecting NHL Czar of Discipline, Brendan Shanahan, to review the Phaneuf hit. Lindy Ruff mentioned in his post game presser that he thought that the hit wwas a "suspendable" hit.

The next day, just before the Leafs took to the ice on Hockey Night In Canada, the Leafs sent out a statement to inform the media that Shanahan would not be reviewing the Phaneuf hit. No supplemental discipline.

Yesterday in Toronto, the worm turned. Shanahan added a retroactive disciplinary action to Phaneuf when he sentenced the robust Dman to a unique form of discipline:

He issued a one day, one-on-one skate session with Just Bieber at the ACC.

Biebs stuck around after his skate date with Phaneuf, and he kicked it with the rest of the Leafs.

Bieber is a Tronna boy. He played a sold out show at Massey Hall on Wednesday night. My spies tell me that some of the Leafs were in attendance at the Bieber show.

Biebs is BFF with the Leafs.

Yeah, Shorty!

The Sabres will skate at 11:30 at the ACC.

Miller will get the crease for Buffalo.

Vanek and Kaleta are good to go.

Much more to come.
