The rules of the blog contest are as follows:

1. Fill out your Hawk and Canadien all time Dream Team Line-ups (3 forwards, 2 defensemen and one goalie), then tell us who would win a Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, and describe how the game goes. Try to keep it to 1000 words or less. Entries will be judged on plausibility and creativity.

2. All entries must be submitted to the following email address: In order to enter the Hawks/Habs contest, send your submissions to [email protected].

3. The winner of the contest will be announced on the hockeytickets.ca twitter feed on December 16th in the morning, as well as on my blog that day, so you may want to follow @hockey_tickets between now and Friday, December 16th, 2011.

If you are announced as the winner, please send me a PM immediately with your full, mailing address!

4. Good Luck!

***Please note, if you'd like to participate and you're from out of town but that your expenses for travel and stay will not be covered.

COYOTES AT HAWKS MINI-PREVIEW

Look for Corey Crawford and Mike Smith respectively to start tonight— probable but unconfirmed.

Dan Carcillo holds on to the 1st line LW spot with Viktor Stalberg moving to the 4th— though that is always subject to change. And Ben Smith keeps Bryan Bickell in the press box.

Gotta feeling we might see Sami Lepisto tonight. Certainly would make sense. Then again, who am I kidding?

The Hawk power play is now 11th in the league (Phoenix is 29th). The penalty kill, lo and behold, has climbed to 29th (Phoenix is 4th).

This is a big game for the Hawks— a chance to prove that they have some real momentum and the proper attitude coming off a huge road won in St. Louis on Saturday—and against a good, well-coached team. Everything the Hawks did right against St. Louis, they failed to do last week against the Coyotes—getting the puck deep, winning board battles, defensive zone coverage.

Ray Emery was solid for the most part versus St. Louis, but likely also benefited from better defense than either Hawk goalie has seen in some time. If the defense is acceptable, but Crawford continues his struggles tonight, it will be interesting to see if Joel Quenneville sticks with #50 for very long.

Thanks for reading,

JJ
