Ryan Miller will start tonight for the first time since suffering a head and neck injury as a result of a car crash with Milan Lucic on 11/12/11.

Miller missed nine starts.

Jhonas Enroth can use the night off as he has been showing signs of exhaustion.

Miller brings his 5-6 record, 2.86 GAA and .909 save % into this game.

One step forward.

Two steps back.

According to the Sabres, Nathan Gerbe and Pat Kaleta will be lost to the Sabres for tonight's game in Smashville.

Gerbe suffered his injury when he was sliced from nose to lower lip by the surgical steel skate blade of this centreman, Paul Gaustad. Pavel Datsyuk knocked Goose off balance and sent him to the ice, thus causing the injury.

The injury occurred in the third period of Friday night's uninspired 4-1 loss to Gerbe's hometown, Detroit Red Wings.

Prior to Friday night, Kaleta had missed the previous four games due to a wonky groin/lower body deal. On Friday night, while finishing his check on Detroit D Jonathon Ericsson, Kaleta suffered yet another set back. Its not known if its a re-aggravation of his old ailment of if its a new one. Either way, he's not healthy enough to make a contribution to his team's success tonight.

Forward Corey Tropp has been recalled from Rochester for his third tour of duty with the Sabres this season.
