9:20 pm: After John Tavares gets manhandled behind the Jets' nets, at 16:04 of the 3rd and the Jets take a 2 - 0 lead on an Oduya goal. It seemed to have been redirected by Amac's stick.

Jack Capuano calls Ricky to the bench the Isles will play with an empty net and an extra man and 2:15 left of the game, the puck makes it way to the empty net and it looks like the Isles will be shut out by the Jets. Burmistrov worked hard past Jurcina but his aim was perfect.

This will be the third time in ten games they've been shut out at home. Thanks Art Staple for the stat. Beyond disappointing.

8:57 pm: Randy Jones took a puck off the ankle and was helped off the ice. Isles work hard at trying to score but the Jets defense and Michael Grabner's broken stick have kept the Isles off the board.

Time out is called by the Jets with 13:27 left of the third and Jack draws up a plan. Is it a plan that will work?8:42 pm: Art Staple had some praise for the Isles performance in the second as the Isles outshot the Jets 19 - 6 and dominated the play. Trouble is, they still couldn't get the puck behind their goal tender.

20 minutes left.

8:26 pm: The Isles have had some good chances, and converted on none of them. the good thing is the score mid way through the second is still 1 - 0. It seems that with Mark Streit's 97 year-old grandmother in the building, they are paying exceptional attention to him and knocking him around as often as they can.

7:30 pm: As if the first Winnepeg Jet goal at the coliseum this year wasn't enough for Kane, he also ended up with the first penalty shot. Lucky for Rick, the post was also playing goal.

7:15 pm: 1 - 0 Winnepeg as I said, WATCH KANE. They didn't listen. One shot, One goal. Not a good way to get the game going.

Also found out that ex NY Islander beat writer Alan Hahn may be in the building tonight as well. AND I"M HOME SICK!

7pm: Okay then! And away we go! Rick DiPietro was tagged tonight with Montoya on the bench. Guess who will also be in the building? Gary Bettman. Although he said he doesn't have a meeting about the coliseum. So don't get excited.

Let's see if there is anything that will serve as another example of coaches asking for a red flag or something to challenge a call. That seems to be a big discussion after Saturday's game.

7 am: There have definitely been too many days between games this week, but tonight the Winnepeg Jets come to town and truthfully the Isles haven't fared well against the club they were.

The Isles have dropped five in a row but managed two consolation points. They need a win. They need a win NOW. The slide had to stop before it becomes a trip to a dark abyss.

The Jets goalie Chris Mason is still day to day so the Isles may face Pavelec with his 3.63 goals against average. For Jack, I'd put Montoya in net tonight. While Nabokov skated yesterday, I'd still put big Al in net. Let's see if I'm right.

The Isles should keep an eye on Kyle Wellwood and Evander Kane. If anyone will spoil their party, it will be those guys.
