11:30 PM: Oh well, the recap will come tomorrow. I'm too tired to finish it. Nighte all.

8:11 pm: I asked for a Michael Grabner goal. I got a Michael Grabner goal. Although I don't remember what Claus said in German about it. I wouldn't be able to pronounce it any. Josh Bailey gets the primary assist on the Grabner goal. And so begins his quest for 40 or more.

Goalie change (finally) to Mathieu Garon. And I will have to continue this from home as I actually have to pack up to leave.

Thurs 7:45 pm: And just like that, PA Parenteau makes it 4 - 1 as he beats Roloson blocker side at 18:39 of the first. Well, they say your best players have to BE your best players. Tonight, that is what they are doing. How soon before they tell Roloson to take a seat in the tunnel?

Thurs 7;38 pm: Fitting. At 15:15 of the first, John Tavares scored his 2nd goal of the game (for real) from a pass from Matt Moulson across Roloson's crease. PA also assisted on the goal putting the Isles up by three and giving the Islander fans -- free chili.

Thurs 7:26 pm: Well, what a game of odd bounces so far. The first goal was scored by Victor Hedman -- on Dwayne Roloson. It was credited to John Tavares as his first goal of the season. On the other side only a few ticks later, a slight deflection put the puck behind Al Montoya. Stamkos celebrated like it was his, but it was credited to Bergeron.

Matt Moulson scored his 1st goal of the season legitamately. SOG are 6 - 5 in favor of the Isles and it's only 9:52 left of the first. This may be an uber high scoring game or things may calm down and tighten up.

Thurs 10:23 am: Geeze, fast and furious information right now. Al Montoya back between the pipes tonight as RDP is still being evaluated. Nabokov will dress as back-up and likely (just as I said) it will be Gillies off IR as Jurcina is not ready to play.

Well, okay then.

Thurs 9:49 am: In a move that made me go hmmmmm, the NY Islanders have just announced that Ryan Strome has been assigned to the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Wow. Just Wow. Okay, so I guess the kid just didn't seem ready at practices.

The good news about this is the kid seems to be genuinely happy. The quotes coming from practice are all positive saying he was grateful for the time he spent with the Isles and that he spoke with Nino about going back to Juniors.

Niederreiter tore it up on the Winterhawks after being returned last season. Perhaps Ryan, who told Art Staple there were things he wanted to work on, will do the same.

With Strome being returned, that means someone is coming off the IR. Capuano said that he would think about that today but if I had to GUESS -- with the Ranger game coming up on Saturday -- Hello Trevor Gillies.

Wed 11 pm: Tampa Bay Lightning are in town to play the first of two games against the Islanders this month. This will be the second to last game of their season starting road trip and the third of their four game home stand after splitting the first two games.

All eyes are on Al Montoya after having been given the net twice last week while Rick DiPietro sat on the bench. With two games this week and an NHL veteran on the roster, who will Jack give the nod to for Thursday’s game?

Oh, there’s a little side note. Rick DiPietro got plunked in the head with a puck today at practice, his mask was damaged and he had to leave practice early. He is being evaluated tomorrow morning. Yep. Already.

While Trevor Gillies and Nino Niederreiter are still on the IR many fans have been asking (loudly) when Ryan Strome will get to play his first NHL game. If I had to made that decision, I’d say tomorrow rather than Saturday. Ease the kid in before showing him the Rangers.

The Lightning have lost Mattias Ohlund from their line-up but the biggest Islander killer has always been Marty St. Louis who currently has points in two of the Lightning’s three games.

Will Lightning strike or will it roll on by?

Yeah, it’s late. Can you tell?
