The Stars have had a productive preseason, posting a 5-1-0 mark to date. This afternoon (1:30 p.m. CDT), Dallas closes out the exhibition season with a matinee in St. Louis. On Sept. 24, the Stars defeated the Blues, 3-2, at the American Airlines Center. Michael Ryder, Matt Fraser and Ray Sawada did the scoring honors for Dallas in that game.

Loui Eriksson (3G, 1A in 3 GP in preseason) sustained a leg injury in the game against Florida on Thursday. The injury is not believed to be serious but he is not expected to play. Likewise, Jamie Benn (groin), Brenden Morrow (knee) and Adam Burish (groin) are slated to play in the opener but will be held out of the preseason finale.

If there's a bright spot to all the training camp injuries to key players it's that Glen Gulutzan has had an extended opportunity to look at players on the bubble of making the roster. Colton Sceviour, Ray Sawada and Tomas Vincour have all looked good at times during the exhibition season, while defenseman Philip Larsen appears NHL ready but may not have an open spot on the blueline for him at the moment.

Among the Stars' regulars, Mike Ribeiro and Ryder have been dominant together in the preseason, and Kari Lehtonen has been extremely sharp in goal.
